Yes, English Bulldogs need supplements! There are a billion out there, this is just what we personally choose. We are not sponsored by these but feel they are the perfect choice for our furbabies. If we change these in our breeding program then we will update this site as we see fit. Please seriousely consider getting these for your bully baby. We both want them to have the best chance at a healthy, long life and we use these to give them the BEST start we can. But ONLY you have the power to actually keep it that way. Take a look at the list below and let us know if you have any questions! Life long support from us is always a guarantee.
Vitamin C is so huge for not only our immune system, but our dogs as well! Especially bulldogs because they already have a low immune system and can become sick so easily. Adult dogs should get 1000 mgs a day while we give puppies 500 mgs a day. When our puppies are getting ready to head to their forever home, we bump up the dose a bit to help give them boost as they will come into contact with germs they are new too. This one will be one of the most important you use within the first couple of weeks they come home to you. You can buy this anywhere, I find Amazon cheapest. But search around!
Helps support a healthy coat
Provides essential fatty acids
Rich in vitamin A and D3
A tiny bit goes really far so even though it can be a little more pricey, it lasts for quite a while. Click the pictures to be directed to where to buy it. You can also get it from Amazon and if you have Prime, it might be cheaper for you there.
Coconut oil isn’t just a fad! It really is a superfood! Coconut oil gently elevates the metabolism, provides a higher level of energy and vitality, protects your dog from illness, and speeds healing. As a bonus, coconut oil can improve dog’s skin and coat, improves digestion, and reduces allergic reactions. We put a dab on our dogs food, but you can also freeze it in trays and give it as treats and sometimes we will put it directly on the dog’s coat. I prefer the Costco brand, but it’s because that’s where it’s most cost-effective for me. Check it out! You may even decide to use it yourself 🙂
Apple cider vinegar, in it’s raw, organic and unpasteurised form has many health benefits for humans, dogs, cats and horses. I use it and suggest it because it’s a flea repellant, antibacterial ear cleaner, a tear stain remover, constipation botherer and another all round superfood. I typically add a tablespoonish size to a gallon water jug and give it internally for:
- Arthritis – Added to food twice a week – in water or directly into food it will help break down calcium deposits found around the joints as dogs get older which cause stiffness and discomfort. Continued use will make joints noticeably more flexible and less painful.
- Flea repellant – ACV keeps the pH levels in the blood slightly acidic which fleas dislike intensely so it helps keep the little blighters away.
- Skin and coat – if your dog has dry skin and a dull coat ACV will soften the skin and bring the fur back to it’s former glory.
- Itchy skin – Because it brings skin back to health and itchiness is significantly reduced.
- Upset tummies – add once a day to water if your dog has diarrhoea and repeat every day for a week to relieve constipation.
- Tooth decay – there is evidence that the acidity levels in ACV helps to breakdown plaque and tartar on teeth.
It of course doesn’t have to be Braggs, but lets be real…Braggs ACV is the best 🙂 (again, not sponsored, just love it!)
All of our dogs receive one of each of these each day in their breakfast meal. This combo and the vitamin C are the main supplements I make sure we do not run out of because:
The Dog Chewables are specially formulated for dogs to support beyond regular nutrition and are the only pet product on the market that contains i26! For puppies to adult dogs, and since it’s chewable it’s like a treat! It comes in Beef flavored.
The i26 Dog Chewables contain some glucosamine for healthy joints. With this combination pack, the FLEX product provides an added benefit of 750 mg per capsule.
